Sustainability that makes a difference

Better materials. Smaller footprint. Local impact.

Crafted with care, using recycled materials

Materials that matter

Our mat and wash bag are made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles — strong, soft, and sand-free.

Aluminium pegs and bottle opener keep things sturdy, while the wooden sand brush uses natural bristles for longevity. The carry strap includes small plastic clips and rings for now, which we plan to replace with recycled or metal parts in future runs.

Every Beach Mate helps keep plastic out of landfill and the ocean — proving that sustainability and good design can go hand in hand.

Intention in every detail

Less waste, more purpose

Over eight million tonnes of plastic enter the ocean each year. We’re doing our part to turn the tide — one product and one parcel at a time.

Each Beach Mate is shipped plastic-free in compostable packaging, using simple, low-impact materials and minimal waste.

We source thoughtfully, produce in small runs, and keep our process as considered as our design.

Giving back to our coast

Beach Mate is based on the Gold Coast — a region known for its beaches, native wildlife, and natural beauty.

We donate a portion of every sale to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to support local conservation and animal care.

Why Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Currumbin operates one of Australia’s busiest wildlife hospitals, treating over 14,000 sick and injured animals each year.

Their not-for-profit work protects native species and supports the health of our coastal environment.

Doing our part

We can’t fix everything, but we can contribute to something that matters. Supporting Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is one small, ongoing way we help protect the coast we call home.

Sustainability for us isn’t a trend — it’s a standard.

We’ll keep improving materials, reducing waste, and supporting local conservation projects with every collection.
